Alright - this is a test of the Google Page Creator. Let's see what this bad boy can do!

Bullets
Ok, so we have bullets, changing font size and color, the ability to create links, bold, italicize <- Danger! I am not sure if this is spelled right, but there is no spellcheck available. When I tried to copy and paste "italicize" into MS Word I couldn't do it. THAT'S NO GOOD. (don't judge me for bad spelling please!)
I can go in and edit HTMl, which is nice, but I can't do it for the whole page, just each section.
Now, Let's create a horizontal line in the HTML editor, shall we.
UGH! I noticed that the HTML for the page is U-G-L-Y.
Here is the HTML for this line of text:
<P style="TEXT-ALIGN: left"><FONT face="trebuchet ms">Here is the HTML for this line of text:</FONT></P>
That is kinda chunky, eh?
Now it is time to create a new page! Please go to the Penguin Zazzo Party Report page! (Click now)
OK! You are back! I hope we get ranked for Penguin Zazzo Party Report - it is a huge money term. Or not.
I will throw up a link on the affiliate blog to the page too - we will see soon enough if these pages can be indexed.
So I just hit the "publish" button and saw the URL for this page: http://jomdahl.googlepages.com/home
Pretty decent as far as URL cleanliness goes.
Also, I looked into the different templates available, and there are a lot of choices - 41 to be exact. There are also 4 choices for page layout.
The site templates are alright, but nothing too exciting in my opinion. All of them are very reminicent of Blogger templates.
THE VERDICT:
Overall, I would say that the Google Page Creator serves as a simple way for people and businesses to create a Web site. It is my guess that the target for this product is not so much people desiging personal Web sites - they have Blogger for that. I think Google is hoping to leverage the Page Creator along with AdWords.
I know a lof of affiliates contact us who want to be affiliates but they have no idea how to create a Web site. With Google page Creator they can put together a site in minutes and have AdWords traffic going to it within the hour.
I think that is really cool - but I think more customization needs to be available to really make the Web pages good for affiliates and companies.
If they can get that it means more $$$ for big GOOG.
